Cooper Ellis

Cooper originally got into trapeze through a birthday party as a kid. He loved it and flew on and off for a long time. Eventually, he decided to fly consistently, training at least once a week. Trapeze became his passion, and after graduating, he moved to Santa Barbara to work at SBTC and began his instructor training.

Currently, Cooper is an instructor at SBTC, enjoying working with both beginners and pros. He likes to break things down for students in a way that helps them understand and execute their moves effectively.

Fun Questions:

Favorite trapeze move?
Hocks Salto.

Train anywhere in the world?
Everywhere. I love to travel and see new places, so the more locations I get to do trapeze at, the better.

Hidden talents related to performing?
I've been a drummer my entire life and spent all of my school years performing in bands and drumline.

Perform with any circus?
I'd love to eventually be in a Cirque Du Soleil show as a catcher. That's my ultimate trapeze goal.

Best trapeze advice?
One of my old coaches once told me, "Don't think, just fly," when I was getting in my head about a trick. I still say that to other people occasionally, and I'll even say it to myself when I'm training.
